Erfolgsgeschichten: Dr. Vaideanu Dan
In my second month spent in Berlin I lived together with the landlords thus creating a closer bond with them. They told me a lot about their family, about their work environment and about their religion. Even after my departure we continued talking via e-mail and every conversation in German helped me better my vocabulary and communication skills.
My colleagues from the course were from all over the world, a fact that turned out to be in my advantage because I had the occasion to communicate with persons having the same German language level as me. Their cultural diversity gave us the occasion to exchange customs and traditions from every country.
During the German language course, outings were organized with the group either in order to visit specific locations or just to spend time together as a group. All my colleagues were friendly, even our professor chose to go out for a drink after the B2 exam.
No German language course in Romania can offer the wide range of possibilities that the German course in Berlin has at its disposal. At the beginning it was hard and conversation mistakes were often but after a while mistakes were less made.
During my stay in Berlin, I visited a lot of tourist attractions such as the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, the Zoo, Alexander Square, Potsdam Square, the Jewish Memorial, the TV Tower, the Berlin Cathedral. The Reichstag impressed me the most because of its combination between the old and modern architecture.
At my workplace I have the possibility to work with a special collective, and the doctor responsible for me as a resident is always guiding me and has become my role model. He is a special person. Also the other doctors, residents and nurses are very friendly. I consider myself a very lucky person to be their colleague.
I am given the chance to put in practice the skills that I have learned also I am encouraged and supported if I find myself having problems. I like the responsibility that is given to me and that I have to constantly prove, the practical aspects that imply in the field of anesthesiology, the possibility to work with state of the art equipment and the fact that I have the occasion to grow as a doctor in a way that I always considered adequate. The hospital is very technical, and I have a lot to learn from the medical cases treated at the clinic, taking in consideration that the hospital is very big and has a lot of departments.
During the interviews I was accompanied and this helped me have more confidence. It helped especially when I was rejected after the first interview.
While my papers were getting ready, EGV was always by my side and the process went quickly. All my questions were answered in a short period and everything was made clear.
Thank you for your support and interest.
